Real Sound Viewing

"Real Sound Viewing" is based on the concept of a "vacuum-packed live performance." Enjoy artists' performances just as if they were live, with virtual video images set to the music of automated instruments.

The Iori Kimura and Kohei Morita Duo

Iori Kimura
A pianist, keyboardist and composer/arranger active in various genres, especially jazz. A diverse artist, Kimura performs in piano trio Primitive Art Orchestra, tours nationally as a solo pianist and collaborates with DJs and dancers in addition to his work with jazz band, bohemianvoodoo. His passionate performances and melodious, emotion-provoking writing are attracting acclaim across Japan and the world.
Kohei Morita
Morita began playing contrabass and electric bass when he was 16. He has released three original albums with Primitive Art Orchestra. Also active as a song writer and arranger, he released "Euphonical Furnitures.2" in 2020. His work emphasizes warm, gentle bass timbres, lilting nostalgic melodies and richly emotional, romantic arrangements. The duo's first album, "Blessings - in Yatsugatake Kogen Ongakudo-," was released on October 21 and has received considerable attention.

In 2011, three musicians formed this group based on the concept of "modern jazz and rock," aiming for a passionate and cool piano trio sound that felt fresh and new. Their seven albums have earned numerous awards such as the Jazz Division Award from the CD Shop Awards. They performed at the Fuji Rock Festival in 2016 and at Summer Sonic in 2017, and even had a solo show at Blue Note Tokyo in 2018. The trio has been responsible for theme songs for TV dramas such as "Quartet" on TBS, Fuji TV's television drama and the following film, "The Confidence Man JP," as well as animated series "Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai" and "Stand My Heroes." The trio has also provided music for various commercials and games, etc.
RINA_Trio

RINA Trio

The RINA Trio led by jazz pianist, RINA. Members RINA (piano), Junichi Sato (bass), Kazuhiro Odagiri (drums). RINA studied with jazz pianist Makoto Ozone at the Jazz Music Division of the Kunitachi College of Music before attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston where she graduated in 2018. With a record of extraordinary success such as being chosen as one of seven finalists and ultimately winning second prize amongst over 160 participants from 13 countries in the 2018 Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition as well as the award for original composition, she now continues to earn rave reviews for her work in New York, etc. She is making her worldwide debut with her 2020 album, “RINA,” featuring all original music.

THE REAL

A piano trio featuring Kazuhiro Takemoto (piano), Junichi Sato (bass), and Takahito Kitai (drums). As their name suggests, The Real are constantly creating new music inspired by the sounds of the real world in the moment. Pianist Kazuhiro Takemoto studied Electone with Maiko Hirai, and jazz piano with Makoto Ozone, Tetsu Shioya, and Takana Miyamoto, winning first place in the A Division at the international Yamaha Electone Concours in 2012. In 2015 he was appointed the general music director of “DANCE WITH ME!” the first musical in the world to be themed on social dancing, and in June of the same year was selected as a camp scholar by the Grammy Awards and invited to study abroad. Takemoto graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music in 2018, majoring in jazz, and joined the Yosuke Inoue Jazz Trio as a pianist in 2019. In August 2020, he released his debut EP, “I Pray / Kazuhiro Takemoto” with Yamaha Music Entertainment Holdings, Inc.

Tsubosaka Kento Trio

Pianist and composer. Moved to the United States on graduating from Keio University. After auditioning he was chosen in 2017 for the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, a course directed by Danilo Perez that is aimed at fostering the development of musicians, and in 2019 graduated from Berklee College of Music at the top of his class. For this Real Sounds Viewing performance he appears with Shinpei Ogawa (bass) and Kunio Kittai (drums) . The three are also members of jazz pianist Makoto Ozone’s “From OZONE till Dawn” project, which introduces up-and-coming young talent who will accept the reins for the next generation. Makoto Ozone was also the producer for this performance.

RINA

Jazz pianist and composer. Studied jazz piano under Makoto Ozone. Invited to study at Berklee College of Music, auditioned and was subsequently accepted with a full waiver of tuition. Made her debut in New York after graduating. Placed second out of 160 participants from 13 countries at the Ellis Marsalis International Jazz Piano Competition in 2018, where she won the best composition award. Although her activities in New York and other cities in the USA met with acclaim, including appearances in CBS TV broadcasts for three consecutive days and performances before President Obama and his wife, the COVID-19 pandemic saw Rina return to Japan just before she was to go on tour. She made her global debut in 2020 with her album "RINA," which features all original compositions. "Transparent Blue," her second album, was released in 2023. Rina performs around Japan in a broad range of styles and settings, including solo piano, duos, trios, and big bands.

Atsushi Inoue moreless trio

Keyboard player and producer of the alternative pop unit "showmore," Atsushi Inoue has rearranged his own songs as instrumentals for performance in this project. Regular support members Shotaro Tamaki (bass) and Taihei (drums) join Inoue in a reconfigured piano trio to rework the songs of showmore, which are more usually centered on the emotional songs and lyrical world of vocalist Manami Nezu, in a special performance for Real Sound Viewing.

PRIMITIVE ART ORCHESTRA

Formed in 2011 by bohemianvoodoo keyboard player Iori Kimura, TRI4TH drummer Takao Ito, and up and coming young bassist Kohei Morita.
Combining the contrasting images inspired by the words "primitive"—simple and primevil—and "orchestra," used to inspire a sense of grandeur within the limited context of a trio, the name "PRIMITIVE ART ORCHESTRA" is intended to conjure a fantasy world.
Their first album, "HELIX," was released on the Playwright label in September 2014, and won the JAZZ JAPAN AWARD 2014 Album of the Year in the “New Star” category.


September 2015 Performed at the 14th Tokyo JAZZ.
December 2015 Released their second album, "qualia."
May 2016 Performed at Tokyo Jazz in Singapore by Tokyo Jazz Festival.
October 2018 Released their third album, "Artifact."
